Overview

The Jimmie Johnson Spotter Pack replaces iRacing's default in-sim spotter and crew chief audio with thousands of authentic clips recorded by crew chief Chad Knaus and spotter Earl Barban. The dialog comes from stock car oval racing, but the pack is deliberately built to work in any vehicle and any series, and with over 5,800 samples no two races sound the same.

It ships in two flavors: the PG-13-ish Standard Pack and the profanity-included Cuss Pack. The pack is free (donations welcome), maintained by Dave Hoffman, and the same site also publishes an Earl Barban voice pack for Crew Chief users.

About JJ Spotter Pack

JJ Spotter Pack swaps out iRacing's stock spotter and crew chief audio for real recordings of NASCAR crew chief Chad Knaus and spotter Earl Barban. The pack started out covering oval and stock car dialog, but the samples are built to work across any car or series in iRacing, not just NASCAR content, so the effect carries over to road racing and other disciplines too.

The library runs over 5,800 individual clips and ships in two flavors: a Standard Pack that keeps the language PG-13, and a Cuss Pack that adds profanity for drivers who want it. Installation is a straightforward installer or a manual drop into iRacing's sound folder, and once installed it shows up as a selectable voice pack inside the sim, with no ongoing configuration needed.

The project is free, maintained by Dave Hoffman, with donations welcome but not required. It's a set-and-forget companion for a SimLauncher profile: install it once alongside iRacing, and from then on it just runs inside the sim without needing to be launched or managed separately.
