About Crew Chief
Crew Chief is a spoken-word race engineer: it watches telemetry from the sim and calls out fuel and pit strategy, tire wear and damage, gaps to the cars around you, and flags or incidents, all out loud, so you're not reading a HUD while trying to hold a line. It also acts as a spotter, warning you about cars alongside or closing fast, the role a real spotter or engineer plays over team radio.
Beyond the basic calls, it recognizes other drivers by name during races, reads pace notes for rally-style stages, and takes voice commands, so you can ask it questions or dictate chat messages without leaving the wheel. It supports multiple languages and voice packs, has an optional in-game overlay with subtitles for the calls, and works in VR since none of it depends on looking at a screen.
It's built for racers who want race-day radio chatter without a human spotter or engineer on hand, whether that's league racing, endurance stints, or solo practice where the extra situational awareness helps. It's free and MIT licensed, developed on GitLab (the GitHub copy is a mirror, not the canonical repo), and like SimHub it's a background companion process: a SimLauncher profile can start it with the sim so the voice calls are already running before you're on track.
