Overview

Content Manager (part of the AcTools project) replaces Assetto Corsa's stock launcher: it manages cars, tracks, and mods, offers a fast quick-drive flow, and integrates with Custom Shaders Patch (CSP) for the graphics and physics tweaks most of the AC community runs. It's the de-facto standard third-party launcher for Assetto Corsa.

The Lite version is free and covers the core launcher and content management features; a donation-based app key (through AssettoCorsa.club or Patreon) unlocks extra tools and early-access builds. Source is public on GitHub, though it isn't published under a standard OSS license.

With SimLauncher: SimLauncher users commonly point an Assetto Corsa profile at Content Manager instead of assettocorsa.exe as the launch target, so CSP and mod management still work as expected.

About Content Manager

Content Manager replaces Assetto Corsa's stock launcher outright: quick-drive and career mode, an online browser with favourite and hidden servers, player tagging and missing-content downloads, a livery editor, a weather editor, and management screens for cars, skins, showrooms and fonts. Its custom showroom renderer adds local reflections and ambient shadows on top of what the stock AC preview tool can do, and a repair tool flags common errors in older car mods.

The Lite version is free and includes everything listed as a core feature: quick drive, online browsing, the showroom, livery editor and content management. Donating any amount through AssettoCorsa.club or the developer's Patreon issues an app key that unlocks work-in-progress tools and pre-release builds, so support is optional rather than a feature paywall on the core launcher.

Content Manager is built and maintained separately from Custom Shaders Patch (CSP), but the two are meant to work together: Content Manager can auto-install and auto-update CSP and exposes a UI for its settings, even though CSP itself doesn't need Content Manager to run. Source is public on the developer's actools GitHub repo, though not under a standard open-source license, and it's still under active development, reflecting its status as the de-facto third-party launcher most of the Assetto Corsa modding community has settled on.
