Overview

Popometer records your driving inputs and overlays them against reference laps from coaches or faster drivers, showing where you brake, get on power, or trigger ABS and traction control differently. Data packs are sold per car/track combination, with an Ultimate subscription bundling a set number of monthly pack activations across supported titles.

Supported sims are Assetto Corsa, Assetto Corsa Competizione, Automobilista 2, iRacing, Le Mans Ultimate, and rFactor 2. A free membership covers recording and comparing your own laps (or laps from purchased data packs); paid Pro and Ultimate subscriptions add group/team comparisons, more stored laps per combo, and bundled monthly data pack activations. The Popometer Recorder is a Windows download; the web account and data pack catalog work in any browser.

Popometer focuses on one specific problem: closing the gap between how you drive and how a faster driver drives the same lap. It records your inputs (throttle, brake, ABS, traction control) alongside your line and lap time, then overlays that against reference laps recorded by coaches or quicker drivers, so you can see corner by corner where you're braking too early, missing an apex, or leaving time on the table.

The comparisons run under matched conditions: reference laps come with the same car setup and weather as your own session, so the differences you see are genuinely about driving rather than an unfair setup or track state. Data is sold per car and track combination as individual packs, or bundled through an Ultimate subscription covering a set number of monthly pack activations across any supported title, which suits drivers chasing pace across several tracks rather than just one.

Recording your own laps is free once you sign up; it's only the reference-data packs and overlay comparisons that require payment. Worth knowing going in: development has been in a maintenance posture since the last public update in September 2025, so it's best treated as a stable coaching tool for the sims it already covers rather than a fast-moving product.
