About SecondMonitor
SecondMonitor is an open-source companion overlay for sim racers who want more timing and telemetry information than their sim shows natively. It runs alongside iRacing, Assetto Corsa, rFactor 2, Automobilista 2 or Le Mans Ultimate and pulls data straight from each game's shared memory, so there's no manual export step: live timing, standings and car data update in real time while you drive or spectate.
Because the project is developed on GitLab under the MIT license, anyone can inspect the source, report a bug or submit a fix rather than waiting on a closed vendor roadmap. Development has stayed active for years, which matters for a tool that has to track shared-memory formats every time a supported sim ships an update.
Version 9.39.0 added shared-memory support for Le Mans Ultimate along with virtual energy data and ABS/TC readouts, extending SecondMonitor's lap comparison tools to LMU's hybrid and energy-management systems. That per-sim tracking is the main draw for endurance and multi-class racers who move between titles and want one consistent timing tower and lap-delta view instead of relearning each game's built-in overlay.
